Who we are
The Salty Cow is a coastal bar and restaurant at 50 Ballyreagh Road, Portrush, BT56 8LT, Northern Ireland. We are the data controller for the personal information described below.
What we collect
- Enquiries & events: when you use our contact or private-hire forms, the details you provide — name, email, phone, and your message or event details.
- Bookings: when you reserve a table, the details you enter into our booking system (name, contact details, party size, date and time). Booking is provided by ResDiary (see below).
- Newsletter: your email address, if you choose to sign up.
- Website usage: limited, aggregated information about how the site is used. See our cookie policy.
How we use it
- To confirm and manage your booking.
- To respond to your enquiry or event request.
- To send the newsletter you have opted in to (you can unsubscribe at any time).
Our lawful bases are performance of a contract (managing your booking), our legitimate interest in responding to you and running the restaurant, and your consent (for example, the newsletter).
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We use a small number of trusted providers who process data on our behalf:
- ResDiary — our table-booking system.
- Resend — delivery of enquiry and newsletter emails.
- Vercel — website hosting.
When you book through the widget on our Book page, your details are handled by ResDiary under their own privacy policy. We otherwise share personal information only where we are legally required to.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry, booking and event information only for as long as we need it to deal with your request and for our ordinary business records, then delete it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict our use of it, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). To exercise any of these rights, email contact@thesaltycow.co.uk.
