About
The Culinary Journey of Land & Sea
A coastal kitchen built around two things we love — properly aged beef, and seafood that was in the water this morning. The view is a bonus.
Our story
The perfect blend of land and sea.
The Salty Cow invites you to experience the perfect blend of land and sea, where every meal tells a story of flavour. Nestled along the stunning coast of Portrush, our bar and restaurant specialises in mouthwatering steaks and fresh, local seafood — all served against a backdrop of breathtaking ocean views.
At The Salty Cow, we pride ourselves on sourcing the finest ingredients, from succulent cuts of beef to the catch of the day, ensuring a memorable dining experience for every guest. Whether you're looking for a hearty meal after a day at the beach or a cosy evening with friends, our friendly atmosphere and exceptional service make it the ideal spot to unwind.
Join us for a meal that celebrates the best of both worlds, where every bite is an invitation to savour the flavours of the coast and the farm.

Sourcing
From succulent cuts of beef
to the catch of the day.
We don't shop for the menu — the menu comes from what's good. Our butcher knows the herd. Our fishmonger knows the boats. The kitchen takes it from there.
The land
Causeway-reared beef
Native breeds, grass-fed, dry-aged on the bone for thirty days. We work with a single family butcher 20 minutes down the coast.
The sea
Landed at Portrush
Whatever comes off the boats — lemon sole, hake, lobster, mussels — written on the board that morning. If it wasn't caught locally, it isn't on the menu.
The farm
Local growers
Carrots, leaves, soft fruit from Antrim and Derry. Cheese from across the island. Honey, butter, milk — all from people we know.

Where we are
The Causeway Coast is the menu.
Portrush sits on a peninsula between two beaches, with the Atlantic on three sides. Royal Portrush Golf Club is ten minutes away. The Giant's Causeway, twenty. It's a remarkable place to eat — and we never take it for granted.
Walk in from the beach. Dress up for an anniversary. We're happy either way.
Come for dinner
